    Summary of my Involvement in Traffic Control and ITS over the last 40+ Years

    After 40+ years in the Traffic Control and ITS industry I have a strong combination of Product Management and Business Development skills creating the ideal link between customer needs and the delivering of a win-win product, system or solution. Experienced in the Production of Business Cases and Business plans based on market knowledge and intelligence. Excellent Marketing and Business Management skills including the management of large stands at exhibitions. Good Communication Skills, including the presentation of technical papers at industry events. Bid Management skills, including the production and management of large multifaceted bids. Excellent leadership and people skills supported by a strong technical engineering background.

    Background in the development of UTC, UTMC, ITS, C-ITS, Traffic Control and Public Transport Priority and Information Systems in the UK over the last 30+ years.

     

    Specialties:

    • The emerging C-ITS Products and Systems in particular working to ensure that we can integrate with, and have a migration path from, the legacy Traffic Products and Systems

    • Urban Traffic Management and Control Systems (UTC / UTMC) Parking Guidance Systems

    • Traffic Controllers and Traffic Control Systems, Detection and Monitoring Equipment.

    • Variable Message Signage and associated Systems

    • GPS based RTPI and Fleet Management Systems, Bus Priority Products and Systems

    • Video based systems, including IP based CCTV and speed enforcement systems

    • Traffic Engineering and Junction Design, including provision of Consultancy Services

    This image is of a Traffic Light Tree that I worked on

    the technical design of with a French artist Pierre Vivant

    back in the late 90's. It was originally installed in

    Canary Wharf, but latterly moved to Billingsgate Market,

    where it still remains today...
